A celebration of Poynton Businesses

Businesses from across Poynton gathered recently at the Davenport Golf Club for the 2015 Poynton In Business Annual Dinner. The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the winners of the Poynton Town Council Poynton Achievements in Customer Excellence (PACE) Awards. Over 300 votes were received and more than 40 businesses were nominated for this year’s awards.

Macclesfield MP, David Rutley and Poynton Mayor Cllr Mrs Rebecca Horsman-Johnson attended the Dinner and presented the awards.

The category winners receiving awards were; Tom Yam Thai Restaurant (Retail & Eateries); Serisabelle Holistic and Beauty Therapy (Service Providers), Primary Websites (Business-to-Business) and Paul Tavernor Gallery (Open Category). The prestigious Poynton Business of the Year 2015 Award went to Serisabelle Holistic and Beauty Therapy.

The 2015 Poynton Employee of the Year was presented to Sue Watkins from the brain injury charity, Headway.

Speaking after the event, Mr Rutley said, “It was a pleasure to be able to help present the awards this year, which demonstrate how much passion and innovation there is in Poynton’s business community. I would like to congratulate all who were nominated for awards this year and the winners. I look forward to continuing to work closely with Poynton In Business in the year ahead.”

Ticket sales and a raffle on the night raised £430 for the “Save our Centre” Poynton Community Centre Fund.
